Cigna coverage · a gentler beginning

Online Psychiatric Care with Cigna

Finding care can feel like enough work before insurance enters the picture. If Cigna is part of your coverage, I can help you understand what may apply to online psychiatric care and what information is still needed before scheduling.

What this page covers

I work with many patients who have Cigna coverage, but participation is never identical across every Cigna product. State, employer, individual plan, eligibility, and benefit verification can all affect what is available to you.

Think of this page as a calm checklist, not a guarantee of coverage. I verify benefits before the first visit whenever possible, and I want you to feel comfortable asking questions about cost, authorization, and telehealth access.

Care that stays personal

Services available

Telehealth gives us room to build care around your lived experience. The right starting point depends on your needs, history, and goals.

A whole-person assessment that considers your current concerns, health history, patterns, and hopes for care.

02

Medication management

Collaborative follow-up for medication decisions, side effects, refills, and changes when clinically appropriate.

03

Supportive therapy via telehealth

Practical, compassionate support for navigating stress, mood, attention, and the everyday work of feeling more grounded.

Before your first visit

How insurance works with us

For a Cigna benefits check, I may need your member number, group number, date of birth, and the state where you will be physically located for care. We look for outpatient behavioral health benefits, telehealth eligibility, and any plan-specific requirements.

Your copay or deductible may be different for an initial evaluation and later visits, depending on the plan. The information available before care is an estimate; Cigna makes the final determination when it processes a claim.

Questions worth asking

What patients should verify

Before you book, Cigna can help you confirm the details that most often affect a first visit:

  • 01Telehealth behavioral health coverage
  • 02Cost for an initial psychiatric evaluation
  • 03Your individual or family deductible
  • 04Copay, coinsurance, and visit limits
  • 05Any referral or prior authorization requirement

A few answers

Cigna FAQs

Can I use my Cigna plan for video visits?

Many Cigna plans include some form of virtual behavioral health coverage, but the details differ. I work with many patients who have Cigna coverage and verify your particular plan before your first appointment.

Does Cigna require a referral?

That depends on the plan you carry. Ask whether your policy requires a referral or prior authorization for outpatient psychiatric care with a psychiatric provider, then share the answer during benefits verification.

What if my Cigna benefits are unclear?

You can still contact me. I can tell you what information is needed for a practice-side check, and you can call the member-services number on your card for the plan rules only Cigna can confirm.

A clear next step

You do not have to decode it alone.

Reach out about your Cigna plan and what you hope to work on. I will help you separate the coverage questions from the care questions, one step at a time.
